Patient Care Associate (PCA) – CVICU

Under the direction of an RN or LPN, the PCA assists with individualized patient care to help patients achieve their highest level of wellness. This role is an essential member of the care team, performing both clinical procedures and non‑clinical support tasks in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Full‑time position. Night shifts available. Rotating holidays and weekends. Nursing students and pre‑med students strongly encouraged to apply.

The department offers a 175‑hour Department of Health and Senior Services‑approved training program, completed during new‑hire orientation and must be finished within 90 days. The PCA training is also an accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program.

• BLS certification within one month of hire
• PCA competencies completed within three months

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• CNA/CPTC or enrollment in a healthcare career program (including high school programs)
• Mercy co‑workers encouraged to apply

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to bend, kneel, reach, twist, grip, and squat
