Rotating 12 hr shifts (50/50 - AM/PM), shift flexibility - Weekend and holiday rotation
- No Call!
- Required to train on both general medical and pulmonary units
- Strongly Preferred:
Acute Care, PICU or Pediatric experience - Preferred: NP / PA experience

Role PurposeThe Nurse Practitioner (Hospitalist) utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill, and competence to deliver inpatient care. The position assesses, diagnoses, and initiates a patient care treatment plan within the scope of a formal physician collaborative practice agreement, operating with considerable independence under physician‑approved protocols.
Responsibilities- Participates in professional development.
- Manages the health care of patient populations with compassion through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician. Prescriptive responsibilities are reviewed by the collaborating physician.
- Coordinates the care of patient populations, in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician, to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services, and placement of referrals.
- Develops treatment plans and treats patients with acute problems, including illnesses and minor injuries, following a predetermined protocol in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician.
- Maintains safety‑sensitiveness, operating with constant alertness and in a safe manner as required by BJC.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- No required prior supervisory experience
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Doctorate in Nursing
- 2–5 years of relevant experience
