Location: St. Louis
Position
Barnes-Jewish Hospital South Campus – 14300 RENAL Inpatient Acute Dialysis, 13 beds.
Schedule- Straight days: 7 am-7 pm
- Weekend requirement: every third Saturday – 12‑hour shift
- On‑call: every sixth Sunday – 12 hours
- PTO accrual begins day‑one
- Eligible for tuition assistance day‑one
- May be eligible for sign‑on bonus
Barnes‑Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and one of the nation’s top hospitals. The Acute Dialysis Unit provides the latest treatments and technologies in renal replacement therapy, including hemodialysis, CVVHDF, CVVHD, SCUF, SSED, TPE, CCPD, and CAPD, and operates Monday through Saturday, 24 hours per day.
Responsibilities- Promotes patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment
- Educates patients and families on managing illness or injury, post‑treatment home‑care needs, and medication administration
- Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
- Participates in professional development activities
- Develops, implements, and documents individual care plans with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team members and the patient, family, or caregiver, following established guidelines and standards of nursing care
- Proactively plans and ensures communication of the care plan across the continuum of care
- Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs per standards of care
- Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs
- Maintains constant state of alertness as a safety‑sensitive position; essential function of this job
- Direct patient care activities: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred) - Minimum two‑year hospital‑based bedside RN experience (required)
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Education:
Nursing Diploma / Associate’s Degree – Nursing - Experience:
No prior experience required, though a minimum of two years bedside RN experience is considered - Supervisor
