Patient Care Associate (PCA) – Step Down

Under the direction of an RN or LPN, the Patient Care Associate assists in individualized patient care to help patients achieve the highest level of wellness. The role includes performing both clinical procedures and non‑clinical support tasks in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Mercy Hospital St.Louis – Full‑time and part‑time shifts, including day, night, rotating holidays and weekends.

• 175‑hour training program approved by the Department of Health and Senior Services, completed during orientation (must be finished within 90 days).
• A Department of Labor Apprenticeship that provides hands‑on experience and credentials.

• BLS certification within one month of hire.
• PCA competencies completed within three months of hire.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CNA or CPTC credential, or enrollment in a healthcare program (including high school health programs).
• No prior experience required.
• Preferred:
  Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking.
• Ability to bend, kneel, reach, twist, grip, and squat.
