Job Overview
Team Lead Charge RN for inpatient surgical, acute care medicine, and neurosciences units at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University Medical Center.
Position Responsibilities- Lead unit nursing staff as Charge Nurse, coordinating patient care and staffing.
- Provide direct patient care as needed and serve as clinical resource to nursing and support staff.
- Assess, plan, evaluate and document the nursing process for the unit.
- Facilitate identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization to discharge and ambulatorily.
- Develop and implement complex individual care plans in collaboration with interprofessional team and family.
- Champion evidence-based practices and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Analyze practice standards, provide feedback to peers, and drive improvement for patient safety and satisfaction.
- Maintain alertness and safe practices as this is a safety‑sensitive position.
- 2‑5 years of bedside nursing experience in medical/surgical settings.
- BSN preferred;
Magnet status enhances candidate preference. - RN license.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- 5‑10 years of nursing experience.
- Minimum:
Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree.
