- Assign staff according to policies and ensure an equal distribution of assigned duties.
- Support teamwork and encourage staff to provide resident care properly and within an acceptable time frame.
- Complete rounds to assess residents and resident care.
- Identify and report concerns and needs to appropriate staff members in a professional and timely manner.
- Receive reports from charge nurses and complete shift reports for the Director of Nursing.
- Appropriately manage and discipline staff members as necessary.
- Assist employees in resolving unsatisfactory performance and behavior issues in a positive and constructive manner.
- Empower staff members by promoting responsibility, accountability, and autonomy to enhance resident care.
- Ensure standards of patient care are utilized and delegate responsibilities as defined by policy.
- Review and revise care plans based on resident assessment and collaborate with Charge Nurses.
- Identify necessary nursing interventions and document all resident/family teaching relevant to health care needs.
- Actively participate in the direct delivery of patient care, answer residents’ call lights, and assist with ADLs as needed.
- Ensure that a safe, comfortable, and clean environment is maintained.
- Complete monthly QAPI, daily nursing labor forms for Administration, and monitor pharmacy recommendations monthly.
- Attend Team Leader meetings twice per month and CNA meetings monthly.
- Maintain working knowledge of emergency procedures and demonstrate awareness of safety issues relevant to patient and employee safety.
- Handle crisis situations promptly, precisely, and professionally.
- Coordinate activities and assignments throughout the facility to ensure appropriate functioning of each neighborhood.
- Analyze problems, offer recommendations, and initiate problem resolution in a professional and timely manner.
- Investigate employee concerns or incidents and take the appropriate action.
- Communicate actions taken to the Director of Nursing and seek advice in necessary situations.
- May be assigned other duties as appropriate.
- Current LPN in the state you will be working.
- Two years of long‑term care supervisory experience preferred.
- Three to five years of long‑term care experience or similar nursing experience.
- Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with residents, visitors and staff.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, manage time and organize a daily schedule to meet productivity standards.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance as necessary.
- Ability to transfer and move residents who vary in ability to assist, including weighing 200+ lbs, using proper lifting techniques and with assistance as necessary.
- Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40 lbs using proper techniques and with assistance as necessary.
- Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with residents and equipment.
- Ability to perform necessary documentation.
- Visual acuity.
- Must be able to manage a diversity of activities.
