Overview
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Wound/Ostomy Care position at an acute care hospital, requiring a Wound Ostomy Care certification and a valid MO or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active MO RN license or compact RN license required; pending IL license considered for Illinois candidates
- Current certifications required: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Wound Ostomy Care (WOC) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of wound care RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
- Work in the Wound Care unit of a 233-bed acute care hospital
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00–15:30
- Responsibilities include VAC changes, dressing changes, and wound photography (rover)
- Peritoneal dialysis experience required
- Charting via Epic; experience required
- Weekend requirement: 1 shift every 6 weeks
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Block scheduling not available
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Navy blue scrubs required; artificial nails are not permitted
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Standard travelers may remain placed at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
