Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg

Job Summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 13‑week assignment in Saint Louis, Missouri. The role offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits on a 12‑hour, night shift schedule.

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications in line with nursing standards.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, document findings, and report concerns.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and assist physicians during treatments.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients.
• Document patient information in the medical record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement care plans.
• Prioritize care based on acuity and clinical needs.
• Follow infection control practices, hand hygiene, and PPE use.
• Advocate for patient needs and preferences.
• Facilitate discharge planning.
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.
• Preferred: NIHSS certification.
• ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
• Other certifications and licenses may be required.

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication.
• Read, write, and communicate in English.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Proficient with PC skills.

• Ability to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
• Effective collaboration with various personnel.
• Fine manipulation and procedural assistance.
• Ability to cope with frequent public contact and work under pressure.
• Occasional work under close supervision and independent work.
• Maintain focus on detail during irregular activity schedules.
• Visual acuity to communicate effectively.

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week. Salary and tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
