The Registered Nurse
- Nurse Recruiter is responsible for the nurse recruitment and retention programs, including Pathway to Excellence and Staffing Methodology. Responsible and accountable for all elements of nursing recruitment and retention processes, demonstrating proficient decision-making skills for complex situations that effect performance outcomes. - Nurse Recruiter is responsible for providing proficient, evidence-based practices in relation to recruitment and retention for a facility. Serves as the key member in delivering and improving the processes of recruitment, onboarding, and retention of Registered Nurses (RNs). Uses nursing practice, clinical knowledge, and data to assess, plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate recruitment and retention efforts of nursing staff. Identifies highly qualified talent for their facilities who aligns with the mission of caring for Veterans.

Utilizes clinical knowledge, skills, and abilities to personalize the experience for the candidate, improves the recruitment and retention experience for all stakeholders and delivers compassionate nurses ready to provide care. Seeks to develop strategic partnership with internal (facility leadership, current nursing staff, HR) and external (colleges, universities, associations) stakeholders to garner an applicable pipeline of candidates. Utilizes their clinical practice to assess the knowledge and experience of the candidate to ensure they are in alignment with the outlined job requirements.

The Nurse Recruiter has knowledge and experience of the candidate requirements and will clarify information to ensure the best fit for the candidate and the organization. In conjunction with the Nurse Recruiter's clinical knowledge, they will utilize the nursing process to continually improve the nursing candidate's onboarding experience to ensure candidate's clinical experience and expertise aligns with the agency's mission.

Responsible for analysis of recruitment and retention data to assist the facility with development of nursing workforce strategies and initiatives. Works with the Nurse Managers (NM) to develop retention strategies, fostering a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare professionals. Serves as a collaborator in advancing practice excellence by promoting adherence to clinical practice standards, facilitating dissemination of best practices, and coordinating practice improvement projects.

Leads in the development, application, and reassessment of staffing methodology processes, including VA Staffing Methodology tools, workload assessments, and evidence-based staffing models. Provides consultation to leadership regarding staffing trends, projected needs, and alignment of workforce capabilities with patient care demands.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
