American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med-Surg/Telemetry Short Stay night shift position in St. Louis, MO, requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and an active MO or compact RN license.
Details- 7 East Medical Admit Unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Mixed patient population of 50% medical and 50% telemetry adults only
- Patient ratios of approximately 4–6:1
- Standard telemetry unit nursing equipment
- EMR:
Epic - Night shift schedule, 7PM–7AM (4x12)
- 13-week contract with the possibility of extension up to 26 weeks
- Every other full weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
- Active RN license — must be eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri (MO license or compact license accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA only
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry (Tele) experience
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required — Canadian SINs are not accepted
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
- Responsibilities include direct patient care activities such as assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all adult age groups
- Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Night shift candidates orient on day shift and must be available the entire week for orientation
- Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) per 13-week period is allowed, but time off must be made up during the assignment
- Candidates are expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
- Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required from November 1 through April 1 — declinations are not accepted
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced travel pay rate
- Black scrubs required
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documented renewal is already scheduled
- All manager interviews are conducted within 24 hours of offer — all offers are subject to final manager approval
