Role Overview: Provides direct patient care in a critical care setting, primarily in the Cardiovascular Recovery Unit, focusing on post-operative cardiac, vascular, and thoracic patients requiring high-intensity care. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educates on illness management, and develops individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences and barriers.
Ensures communication of care plans across the continuum and participates in activities promoting safety, quality, and professional development.
- Licensed RN with a Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - No prior experience required; less than 2 years preferred.
- Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with alertness and safety focus.
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Educate patients and families on post-treatment needs and medication management.
- Participate in ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and communicate care plans.
