American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Med/Surg Oncology night shift position requiring 1 year of Oncology experience and a Missouri or Compact RN license.

• Hospital-based inpatient Med/Surg Oncology unit with 15 beds
• Patient population includes oncology, some neuro overflow, medical, and end of life patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekend requirement of no more than every other weekend, scheduled based on unit needs
• Call requirements as needed by facility
• Floating required to any unit within the med/surg service line
• Uses Alaris pumps, NOVA glucometers, and remote telemetry equipment
• EMR system is EPIC
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, requiring full availability for the orientation week

• Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg experience required
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Oncology experience required
• ONS Chemo Certification preferred
• Experience with medication administration, EMR documentation, and physical assessment required
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
• Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Maintain professional accountability and evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers
• Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, bending, stooping, lifting and turning patients with assistance, pushing/pulling/gripping up to 50 lbs, and pinching up to 15 lbs
• High risk exposure to blood and body fluids
• Black scrub color required
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1, with no declinations accepted
• RTO of 5 days or less allowed, must be made up during the assignment
• Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
• Team player with reliability and flexibility preferred
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, though travel pay rate is reduced for candidates within this radius
• Local candidates within 50 miles are restricted to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts at this facility before requiring a 1-year separation or transition to a facility outside the radius
• Level 2 Trauma Center environment
