Job Title and Location
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Epworth – Webster – St. Louis, MO 63119
CompensationSalary: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour.
SummaryProvide comprehensive medical assistance to youth aged 11‑18, including medication management and clinical assessments, within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Primary Responsibilities- Mediate medication management: safely administer medications, accurately document administration, transcribe orders, and maintain medication storage and counts in accordance with regulations; educate clients, staff, and guardians about medications and assist staff with medication‑related questions.
- Implement the Medication Administration Certification training program, including training and testing staff on proper medication administration techniques.
- Perform medical assessments and deliver first aid for client illness or injuries; make referrals for additional care as needed.
- Conduct nursing skills consistent with current standards, including vital sign checks and finger‑stick blood glucose (FSBS) assessments.
- Complete documentation of medical records and findings in compliance with agency standards and policies.
- Ensure continuity of care by accurately communicating health information to nurses, staff, physicians, and other team members.
- Assist during crisis situations to safeguard client and colleague well‑being.
- Practice infection control procedures: report communicable diseases, educate staff and clients, and initiate infection control measures when indicated.
- Provide basic first aid support and answer general health‑related questions; make over‑the‑counter medications available to staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Utilize strength‑based therapeutic crisis intervention methods with adolescents.
- Understand the needs of at‑risk youth populations.
- Effectively instruct clients and oversee their daily activities.
- Read, interpret, and implement agency documents, procedure manuals, and treatment plans.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate interpersonal collaboration with colleagues, community partners, and families.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and ETO database software.
- Meet physical demands of the role, including frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 100lbs.
- Analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and government regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; handle abstract and concrete variables.
- Adhere to agency rules, policies, workplace safety, code of conduct, social media guidelines, training requirements, and confidentiality.
- Graduated from an accredited nursing school and licensed/registered as an RN/LPN in Missouri.
- Demonstrated client‑care skills with adolescent and psychiatric experience preferred.
- Able to perform Safe Crisis Management (SCM) certified physical intervention techniques for crisis intervention and annual certification.
- Minimum age 21 years.
