American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details- Acute care hospital setting with 233 total staffed beds
- Emergency Department serving a combined adult/pediatric population
- STEMI certified and Stroke certified facility
- Handles shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (5:45 PM to 6:15 AM)
- Weekend requirement of every 3rd weekend, with rotation on Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday
- No floating required outside of scope
- No on-call responsibilities
- EPIC charting system used
- Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
- EPIC charting experience required
- Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
- Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Proficient in isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Skilled in splint application and orthopedic care
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric presentations including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
- Navy scrub color required
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- Standard travelers may stay for up to an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
- Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of orientation
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved with no exceptions
