This is an  position for a critical care RN for procedural pre and post Monday-Friday. This is for endo and IR pts. No weekends, no holiday, no call.

Hours:

3 shifts per 13 weeks. The cancelled shifts must be the regular shift length to which the Contractor Personnel is assigned

Special Requirements:
Pt. population includes adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric population in level 1 trauma center. Surgical patients we recover include:
Neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant. We do not recover open heart surgeries or liver transplants.

Unit has own PCT/transport team. Unit open 24/7. Consists of 38 patient bays. Staff needed for recovery of vast array of acute post op patients. Critical care experience required as some patients require artificial airways, invasive monitoring (including ICP), transfusions, and vasoactive drugs.

Night shift nurses are expected to pre-op patients for first cases from  when there are no patients for them in the PACU.

Required:

experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia; needs high acuity inpatient PACU and ICU/critical care experience required.

Special Equipment:
*** HARDSTOP: 2 years PACU in level 1 trauma required, ICU/critical care required. Please SCREEN if they have level 2 trauma for manager to review.
*********** PLEASE SCREEN if missing any required skills or does not have 2 years level 1 trauma ICU exp.
**** Will need to pass Relias EKG exam

Travel Compliance RTO Policy:
Max of 7 days of RTO (7+ days requires manager approval, along with any holiday RTO). ALL RTO MUST BE FINALIZED AT TIME OF SUBMISSION

No new RTO after submission. NO ADDITIONAL RTO OR SCHEDULE REQUESTS CAN BE REQUESTED POST SUBMISSION, POST OFFER OR POST START/ONSITE

No RTO allowed the first week of an assignment

Radius/Local Rules:
No local candidates accepted within 75 mile radius. No local travelers allowed, except for Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nurse Assistants, and Medical Assistants

Tenure Policy / Returning Staff and Tenure Policy (excluding Interim Leadership and RNFA roles): 18 months with a 3-month break in service required. Permanent employees (across BJC and/or Saint Lukes) must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler

All travelers will float within service line

Contract Details:
Confirm shift in submittal (e.g., 3x12, 4x12, etc.). Please note, contract length is firm

Booking Rules: BJC does not permit contractors to sign a contract and subsequently cancel it in order to accept another BJC assignment. Contractors are expected to fulfill the terms of their signed agreement in full. Mid-contract cancellations for the purpose of booking a different BJC assignment are not allowed. If a contract is canceled at the contractor’s discretion, they must complete an assignment elsewhere before being considered for a new BJC opportunity
