Domiciliary Mental Health Registered Nurse (RN)

Major Duties include but are not limited to:
The Domiciliary Mental Health (MH) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and leading the provision of competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients. The domiciliary RN will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation. The domiciliary RN provides patient-centered and recovery-oriented care and maintains self awareness while caring for patients living with substance use disorder and/or Mental Health conditions.

  • They facilitate shift report, warm hand-offs, and nurse-led psycho educational groups; use therapeutic communication techniques, practice de-escalation techniques, utilize recovery oriented language, and provide oversight of the patient safe medication management program.
  • The domiciliary RN actively participates in MH interdisciplinary treatment team, patient safety and environment of care rounds, and responds to psychiatric and medical care needs and emergencies as directed.
  • The domiciliary RN reports safety concerns, and documents nursing assessments, risk screens, nursing plan of care, patient safety rounds, and environment of care rounds according to facility policy.
  • The domiciliary RN maintains professional boundaries to protect patient vulnerabilities and act in the best interest of the patient.
  • Fosters a safe and supportive environment conducive to the professional development of healthcare.
  • Leads the provision of nursing care to patients with complex care needs utilizing the nursing process in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice.
  • Applies clinical knowledge/judgment to lead staff involvement in planning, decision making, and evaluating outcomes within the immediate practice setting.
  • Serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, improving outcomes.
  • Considers alternative courses of action. Respects the opinions, abilities, and contributions of others. Encourages individual growth and development.
  • Expands knowledge base and practice evaluation through mentoring, precepting, and/or teaching to improve outcomes.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
