American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and BLS/ACLS certification.

• Medical Surgical unit within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
• Acute care patient population including infection, renal, cardiac, pulmonary, oncology, ortho, bariatric, pre-transplant, observation, psychiatric, long-stay, and COVID cases
• High patient turnover with a wide variety of conditions received directly from the ED
• Patient ratios of 4:1 for day shift and 5:1 for all other shifts
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Required to work every third weekend
• Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic for charting
• Utilizes Alaris pumps, CPAPs, BiPAPs, bladder scanners, lifts, hover mats, EKGs, and scales

• Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required, 2 years preferred; 1+ years considered with Level I Trauma or teaching hospital experience
• Must pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required
• Respiratory care and tracheostomy care/management experience preferred
• Must be able to accommodate facial hair fit-testing requirements or be clean-shaven

• Provide direct care to a diverse and rapidly rotating acute care patient population
• Additional specialized training provided to prepare nurses for varied patient conditions
• Navy scrub color required
• No more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
• Standard travelers may work up to 18 months before requiring a 3-month break in service
• Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
