Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR

RN – Cardiovascular Operating Room

Schedule:

3x12 (0615–1845); rotating start times as needed

Requirements:

• RN CVOR experience: 2 years required
• Level I trauma experience: required
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS
• Education:
  
  BSN preferred
• EMR:
  Epic
• Scrub experience required for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases
• Ability to circulate when needed
• Experience with cardiac/thoracic procedures and vascular (open & endovascular)
• Transplant and complex abdominal/pancreatic case experience preferred

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the cardiovascular operating room.
• Collaborate with surgical teams during operative procedures to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
• Scrub and assist in a variety of cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures.
• Monitor patient status preoperatively and postoperatively, implementing appropriate interventions.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the surgical unit.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation throughout the surgical process.

Compliance / Notes:

• Flu vaccine:
  Required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Max 7 days of request time off (7+ requires manager approval). No time off first week. No new requests after submission.
• Required documents due by 3 PM CST the Monday before start
• Fit testing:
  Facial hair must allow proper fit testing (may be asked to shave)
