American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring 3 years of ER experience and ACLS certification.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center
- Magnet-designated and teaching hospital setting
- Day shift schedule (4x12 hours, 6:00 AM-6:30 PM)
- Can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week
- Patient ratio of 4:1 with occasional flex to 5:1
- Every other weekend required
- Only Friday-Sunday weekend block scheduling available; no weekday block schedules
- No on-call requirements
- No floating outside of service line required
- Frequently staffs the behavioral health ED POD
- EPIC charting system used and required
- Active MO or compact RN license required (must match permanent residence)
- Pending license accepted at time of submission
- 3 years of ER experience required; 2-3 years considered with Level I trauma center experience and prior travel assignment
- Prior travel experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC
- Preferred certifications: CPI, NIHSS
- Level I and/or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Must pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- EPIC charting experience required
- Skills in psychiatric care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, respiratory management, emergency medications, neurological trauma, and cardiac monitoring
- Facial hair must allow for proper fit testing or must be shaved with no exceptions
- Navy blue scrub color required
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not accepted
- Standard travelers must reside outside a 75-mile radius and may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
- Contract length is firm with no early cancellations to accept other assignments at the same health system
- Labs must be completed within 48-72 hours of signing
