Mercy is seeking candidates for the February 2027 NICU RN Residency. In this structured program, you will deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to high-risk newborns in a Level III/IV NICU while developing critical care skills through classroom education, simulation, and precepted clinical shifts. Residents will monitor fragile infants, administer medications, support family education and bonding, and collaborate with neonatologists and an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based nursing care to high-risk and critically ill newborns in the NICUContinuously monitor vital signs, ventilators, and infusion equipment, escalating changes promptly
- Administer medications, feedings, and treatments per provider orders and NICU protocols
- Support and educate families, promoting bonding and involvement in infant care
- Collaborate with neonatologists and interdisciplinary teams on care plans and rounds
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMRParticipate in residency classes, simulations, and competency validations
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards in the NICUAssist with emergency and resuscitation procedures as part of the care team
- Engage in ongoing professional development and feedback within the residency program
