Registered Nurse, Rehab Hospital, Full-time, Nights

Mercy is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for our Rehab Hospital, working full-time night shifts. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to adults requiring intensive rehabilitation after illness, surgery, or injury. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, medication administration, care planning, patient and family education, and coordination with an interdisciplinary rehab team. You will use evidence-based practices to promote mobility, safety, and functional recovery.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to rehabilitation patients, including assessments, medication administration, and wound care
• Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary rehab team
• Monitor patient progress, document clinical findings, and adjust interventions to support mobility, function, and recovery goals
• Educate patients and families on rehab goals, self-care techniques, discharge planning, and ongoing health management
• Maintain patient safety, follow infection control and hospital policies, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate closely with therapists, case managers, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive, patient-centered care
• Use electronic health records to accurately chart care, communicate updates, and ensure continuity across shifts
• Precept and support new staff, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and participate in unit-based education
