Position Summary
Dr. Randall Bateman’s lab investigates the causes, and future diagnosis and treatments of Alzheimer’s disease utilizing a wide variety of assays and techniques from basic applications such as quantitative measurement of stable-isotope labeled peptides to clinical translational studies in diagnostic and therapeutic biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease. We have an ongoing clinical study to collect matched blood and cerebrospinal fluid from patients with memory concerns in the clinic, and will be launching a new study called the Study to Understand Novel Biomarkers in Researching Dementia (SUNBIRD) to validate blood biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease in a large clinic-based cohort.
This position is a member of a multidisciplinary research team and performs duties associated with the coordination and implementation of research studies/projects, data collection, and the management of data generated by study protocols. It also involves assessment of research participants and interactions with research participants, family, and caregivers in a research setting. This position interacts with participants who have mild to moderate dementia and healthy control volunteers.

PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Works under the principal investigator’s guidance to meet the research objectives of the project.
- Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients; documents, collects data and assists physicians.
- Works with staff to identify, screen and enroll study subjects; ensures lab and data are obtained according to established protocol.
- Prepares/submits event reports in adherence with study procedures, budget and established guidelines.
- Assists research associates from sponsoring organization, providing study explanations and reports as necessary.
- Collects basic health information as required by protocol.

Additional Requirements- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location.
- Basic Life Support Certification. Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements.

Salary Range$56,200.00 - $96,100.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
