Role:
Provides neonatal, pediatric, and maternal patient transportation as part of an interdisciplinary team, ensuring safe ground and air transfers of critically ill or injured patients.
Responsibilities:Operates critical care equipment, performs BLS and ALS procedures, assesses patient needs, develops care plans, manages equipment inventory, maintains documentation, and participates in education and process improvement initiatives. Acts as a preceptor and stays current with transport medicine advancements.
Qualifications:Requires a nursing degree, at least three years of RN experience in NICU, PICU, or Emergency care, and relevant certifications including BLS, ALS, NRP, PALS, and trauma care courses. Valid RN licensure in Missouri or a compact state is necessary.
Skills:Critical thinking, clinical assessment, equipment proficiency, effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols. Physical ability to perform lifting, standing, and operating in emergency situations is essential.
Additional duties:Maintains equipment, participates in educational activities, and contributes to quality improvement projects to enhance patient care during transport.
