Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a 13-week assignment requiring 2+ years of tele/step-down experience and travel nursing experience.

Details
  • Work in the Telemetry/Step-Down unit of a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5
  • Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Utilizes cardiac drips and EKG monitoring
Requirements
  • Active MO or compact RN license required (submission without license accepted, but license must be in hand and match permanent residence for compact)
  • Current certifications: ACLS and BLS
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry/step-down experience required (dedicated PCU experience not required)
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skilled in EKG interpretation and management of cardiac drips (non-titrating)
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Proficient in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Additional Information
  • Provide telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, drip management, and dysrhythmia recognition and response
  • Responsible for wound care, IV insulin protocols, and pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care
  • Support patients with renal, gastrointestinal, and substance withdrawal needs as part of comprehensive unit care
  • Scrub color required:
    Navy Blue
  • Must be able to accommodate facial hair requirements for proper respirator fit testing, or be willing to shave
  • Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
  • Standard travelers may work at the facility for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
  • Permanent employees within the BJC or Saint Luke's system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler to any BJC facility
  • Contract length is firm with no accommodations for block scheduling
