American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I Trauma Center experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center
- Patient ratio of 4:1 with occasional flex to 5:1
- Day shift schedule (4x12 hours, 6:00 AM-6:30 PM)
- Can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week
- Required to work every other weekend
- Only Friday-Sunday weekend block scheduling available; no weekday block schedules
- No floating outside of service line required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Frequently required to staff in the behavioral health ED POD
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
- Minimum 3 years of ER experience required; candidates with 2-3 years may be considered if they have Level I Trauma Center experience and prior travel assignment experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC
- Preferred certifications: CPI, NIHSS
- Must pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- EPIC charting experience required
- Level I and/or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, isolation precautions/PPE, and triage
- Preferred skills include arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, chest tube management, procedural sedation, and management of psychiatric/behavioral health patients
- Must have facial hair compliant with respirator fit testing or be willing to shave
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, Teaching Hospital and Level I Trauma Center with 1,273 staffed beds
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acuities including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
- Responsibilities include interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Contract length is firm at 13 weeks
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not accepted
- Standard travelers residing outside the 75-mile radius may work up to an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
- Returning travelers must have an 18-month tenure with a 3-month break in service before reapplying
