Role
Wound Care Nurse responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating wound and ostomy care for a specific patient group.
ResponsibilitiesAssessing, monitoring, and treating complex wounds such as surgical wounds, ulcers, decubitus ulcers, feeding tube sites, and abscesses. Developing and implementing treatment plans, managing infections, and educating healthcare staff on proper wound care practices.
QualificationsNursing degree from an accredited school, active RN license, and certification in Wound Care (WCC) or Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing (WOCN).
Skills &Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform physical movements such as gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting.
Key DutiesPrescribe and oversee wound care, assess wounds, monitor infections, and educate team members to ensure safe and effective wound management.
