American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med Surg/Tele unit requiring 1+ year of recent med surg experience and a Missouri or compact RN license.

• Inpatient Med Surg/Telemetry unit caring for a medical patient population
• 60-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:5/6
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required as needed by facility
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Uses bladder scanner, vein finder, IV pumps, and wound vacs

• Active RN license eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri (compact accepted)
• BLS certification from AHA required
• ACLS certification from AHA preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg inpatient experience required
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
• Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize comfort and outcomes
• Care for patients recovering from trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
• Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care provided by other direct caregivers
• Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, bending, stooping, lifting, turning patients with assistance, and pushing/pulling/gripping up to 50 lbs
• High risk exposure to blood and body fluids
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (declinations not accepted)
• Black scrub color required
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and traveler must be available the entire week for orientation
• RTO of 5 days or less allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates accepted, though local candidates residing within 50 miles are subject to bill rate adjustment and contract limitations
