What You’ll Do

• Assist with adult cardiothoracic surgical procedures including CABG, valve repairs, ascending aortic surgeries, and more.
• Provide intraoperative support in the operating room as the first assist.
• Collaborate with a team of cardiac surgeons and intensivists.
• Contribute to patient safety and surgical outcomes through skilled assistance and protocols.
• Support post-operative care as needed within the surgical team.

What You Need
Required:

• Valid Missouri license and BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of OR first assist experience in adult cardiac surgery
• Board certification in cardiothoracic surgery or related field

Preferred:

• RNFA certification
• Experience with endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) and mechanical circulatory support procedures

About the Assignment
This engagement involves providing OR first assist support in a busy academic hospital specializing in adult cardiac surgery. The facility performs approximately 517 pump cases annually, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repairs, ascending aortic surgeries, and complex support procedures. Schedule includes regular night shifts with rotating call responsibilities. You will work within an advanced environment utilizing Epic EMR and state-of-the-art surgical equipment.
