Join our 38-bed GI/GU Surgical Unit dedicated to providing exceptional care to every patient. As a nurse on 6900, you'll work alongside some of the most innovative surgeons in the region and be part of a nationally recognized program. Our team cares for a diverse patient population ranging from teenagers to adults over 90 years old and is a leader in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) care.
What You'll Care For- Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Diverticulitis
- Rectal and Colon Cancer
- Small Bowel Obstruction and Ileus
- Prostate, Kidney, and Bladder Cancer
- Colon Resections, with and without ostomy creation
- TURP and TURBT procedures
- Cystectomy, Neobladder, and Ileal Conduit surgeries
- Reconstructive surgery and wound care

We are leaders in providing Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) care. Our surgeons are leading the way in refining surgical procedures and non-operative techniques, to reduce pain, complications, and to improve outcomes.
We are a 38 bed surgical unit with a goal of providing excellent care to all of our patients. Our average nurse to patient ratio is 1:4. We offer a knowledgeable staff willing to assist you with your learning process during orientation and beyond, and a learning environment to help you grow in knowledge, skills, and confidence.
Role Purpose
Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.
