Neuro Step Down Nurse

Role Overview

Provides direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, medication, and post-treatment needs. Collaborates with the interprofessional team to develop, implement, and document individualized care plans, ensuring clear communication across the continuum of care. Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations.

Maintains a safe environment and adheres to regulatory standards.

• RN license required;
  Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree;
  Bachelor's preferred
• No prior experience necessary; 2+ years preferred for advanced roles
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment with alertness and professionalism

• Promote healing environment and patient safety
• Educate patients and families on care and medication management
• Participate in professional development and quality improvement activities
