Position Overview:
The Medical Surgical Supervisor oversees inpatient nursing operations on the night shift, ensuring high-quality patient care in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff in a Medical Surgical unit.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing team members.
- Facilitate effective communication among staff and other departments.
- Monitor patient care quality and implement improvements as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Current RN license in Missouri or valid compact license.
- 3-5 years of hospital nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with completion within 30 days if not already held.
- Preferred: BSN, management experience, additional certifications, and specialty licensure.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform prolonged standing, walking, and mobility tasks.
- Lead nursing staff during night shifts.
- Maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
- Assist in staff development and performance management.
- Implement process improvements and support hospital policies.
