Position Overview: The Registered Nurse (RN) manages and directs nursing care in cath lab and interventional radiology settings, supporting hospital success through energetic and motivated care delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment:
Performs comprehensive patient assessments, documents findings, and conducts ongoing evaluations to monitor patient status. - Planning:
Develops individualized care plans based on assessments, diagnoses, and physician orders, collaborating with healthcare team members. - Implementation:
Executes and documents nursing interventions, provides patient education, reviews physician orders, and recognizes and responds to changes in patient condition. - Evaluation:
Assesses care effectiveness, modifies care plans as needed, and evaluates patient responses and education outcomes. - Professional Practice:
Demonstrates accountability, participates in ongoing education, and acts as a resource to colleagues and patients. - Safety/Infection Control:
Adheres to safety protocols, practices universal precautions, maintains a safe environment, and completes mandatory training. - Service Excellence:
Ensures courteous, respectful, and timely care, communicates effectively, maintains confidentiality, and promotes cost-effective practices. - Quality Improvement:
Engages in unit-based quality initiatives, data collection, and research participation to enhance care quality. - Age-Appropriate & Specialized Care:
Provides age-specific care and specialized interventions for high-risk patients, including restraint and pain management, while recognizing signs of abuse.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year medical-surgical experience; critical care or post-anesthesia care preferred.
- Current BLS and ALS certification; valid RN license in applicable states.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing.
- Strong assessment, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment: Exposure to blood borne pathogens, unpredictable situations, emergencies, and varying hours, requiring alertness and adherence to safety standards.
