Role Overview: Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within established nursing care standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration. Ensures patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while participating in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, addressing physical, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs.
Uses critical nursing skills to evaluate patient needs and barriers, ensuring effective communication across care continuum. Maintains a safe working environment and adheres to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promotes a healing environment through patient and family education.
- Participates in safety, quality, and compliance activities.
- Creates and documents personalized care plans with collaborative input.
- Assesses patient needs holistically, considering individual values and barriers.
- Works in a safety-sensitive capacity, maintaining alertness and safety at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2+ years of RN experience, preferably with oncology and chemo certification.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Additional Information: This PRN role operates Monday through Friday, with no weekends, holidays, or call. Located in a specialized outpatient infusion center, the position emphasizes safe, compassionate care delivery in a collaborative environment.
