- Unit setting: 28-room Medical-Oncology unit in an acute care hospital
- Provide direct nursing care for adult medical-surgical and oncology patients, with responsibilities including monitoring patient status, administering medications, and coordinating care.
- Administer chemotherapy basics and monitor patients for adverse effects; manage IV access and port systems as appropriate.
- Operate telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias; respond to changes in patient condition; participate in rapid response and codes as needed.
- Maintain sterile technique, isolation precautions/PPE, and infection control practices; uphold safety and comfort for patients and families.
- Document thoroughly in EPIC, including assessments, plan of care, progress notes, medication administration, and patient education; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and unit secretary to coordinate care.
- Float within scope as needed; adhere to unit policies, including weekend scheduling requirements and RTO guidelines.
- Active Registered Nurse license (Missouri) or eligibility; pending license accepted for submission per policy.
- BLS (BCLS), NIHSS, and fire safety training required.
- EPIC charting experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; first-timers accepted per job data.
- Education:
Graduation from an approved RN program (RN license required). - Ability to work in an acute care hospital setting; nights and weekend rotations as assigned.
- Floating within scope/service line as needed.
- RTO policy: maximum 7 days without manager approval; no RTO during the first week; all RTO must be finalized at submittal/offer.
- Local candidates: not accepted within a 75-mile radius.
