Assistant Nurse Manager – Operating Room

This position is for an Assistant Nurse Manager in a high-volume, Level One Trauma Center’s perioperative services, overseeing cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery units. Key responsibilities include staff management, scheduling, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, and conducting performance reviews for approximately 30 direct reports. The role involves developing and implementing patient care plans, ensuring compliance with policies, managing staffing needs, and supporting departmental operational and financial goals.

• Manage personnel including hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and professional development.
• Develop and oversee staffing, budgets, and resource allocation to meet departmental goals.
• Coordinate patient care, ensuring interventions are appropriate for patients’ age and needs, and document accordingly.
• Lead staff communication, conduct performance reviews, and address disciplinary issues.
• Ensure staff productivity aligns with operational objectives, maintaining a safe environment.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Experience:
  
  2-5 years, with preferred 5-10 years in nursing; supervisory experience preferred but not required.
