Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg ENT/Plastics unit requiring telemetry and tracheostomy/laryngectomy care experience, 1:5 ratios, and night shift coverage.

• Active MO or compact RN license required (no issuance tied to another compact state)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• BSN preferred
• 2 years of Med/Surg experience required; will consider 1+ year with Level I Trauma or Teaching Facility experience
• Telemetry experience required
• Experience with tracheostomy/total laryngectomy care, free flap monitoring, drain care, tube feeding, and wound care required
• Experience with IV access, central line management, and phlebotomy required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

• ENT and Plastic Surgery Med/Surg unit in a Magnet and Teaching hospital, Level I Trauma Center
• Patient population includes cuffed/cuffless tracheostomies, total laryngectomies, carotid blow out precautions, and free flap patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within service line required
• No on-call requirements
• EPIC EMR used, experience required
• Provide direct patient care for ENT and plastic surgery patients, including airway management, drain care, wound care, and tube feeding
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved, no exceptions
• No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, local candidates not accepted
• Standard travelers may remain for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
• Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
