American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for an ENT and Plastic Surgery unit requiring tracheostomy and free flap monitoring skills at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital.
Requirements- Active MO or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- BSN preferred
- 2 years of Med/Surg experience required; will consider 1+ year with Level I Trauma/Teaching Facility experience
- Experience with drains, tracheostomy/total laryngectomy care, tube feeding, phlebotomy, IV access, and central line management required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior charge experience preferred
- ENT and Plastic Surgery Med/Surg unit in a Level I Trauma teaching hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Care for patients with cuffed/cuffless tracheostomies, total laryngectomies, carotid blow out precautions, and free flap patients
- Telemetry monitoring required
- Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- Float within scope/service line to meet facility needs required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Provide care including tracheostomy/total laryngectomy management, free flap monitoring, drain care, tube feeding, and wound care
- First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
- No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13‑week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to this facility as a traveler
- Travelers must complete an 18‑month tenure with a required 3‑month break in service before returning
- Navy blue scrub color required
- Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved
