Reports ToGolf Course Superintendent & Assistant Superintendent
Job SummaryThe Golf Course Maintenance Laborer is responsible for maintaining the appearance, playability, and safety of the golf course and surrounding grounds. This position performs a variety of manual labor and equipment based tasks to ensure the course meets high standards for members and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and other turf areas
- Rake bunkers and maintain sand traps
- Perform trimming, edging, and blowing of turf and landscaped areas
- Hand watering
- Remove debris, leaves, and litter from the course and practice areas
- Assist with landscaping projects, including planting, mulching, and tree care
- Operate and maintain maintenance equipment and tools safely
- Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or turf problems to supervisors
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous golf course or grounds maintenance experience is a plus, but not required
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor
- Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Basic understanding of turf maintenance practices (training provided)
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Attention to detail and pride in work quality
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Outdoor work environment with exposure to heat, cold, rain, and humidity
- Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and use of hand tools and machinery
