Overview

These positions will work at an assigned park location. Currently, there is a vacancy in the North Area cent Park but the list being created from this posting may be used to fill vacancies throughout the County parks system.

Compensation & Benefits

The typical starting salary range is $16.39 - $19.67 per hour, depending on qualifications and budget. We offer a competitive benefits package and a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy. Responsibilities
  • Serves as a lead person of the crew in the absence of the park supervisor.
  • Cleans and performs maintenance of restrooms, shelters, picnic sites, athletic fields, trails, amphitheater, and other facilities.
  • Mows and trims grounds.
  • Performs trash removal and pick-up.
  • Sets up equipment and materials for programs and events.
  • Breaks down and cleans up after programs and events.
  • Assists with snow and ice removal.
  • Performs various construction‑related activities.
  • Performs related work as required.
Qualifications

Two years of building and grounds maintenance experience, preferably including experience in a lead or supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Special Requirements

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.

Selection and Appointment

A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant, including education, experience, supplemental questions, employment references, and other appropriate information. All applicants who are conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to an urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment; the cost will be covered by the County. Candidates are required to earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview.

The top five ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.
