Overview
These positions will work at an assigned park location. Currently, there is a vacancy in the North Area cent Park but the list being created from this posting may be used to fill vacancies throughout the County parks system.
Compensation & BenefitsThe typical starting salary range is $16.39 - $19.67 per hour, depending on qualifications and budget. Responsibilities- Serves as a lead person of the crew in the absence of the park supervisor.
- Cleans and performs maintenance of restrooms, shelters, picnic sites, athletic fields, trails, amphitheater, and other facilities.
- Mows and trims grounds.
- Performs trash removal and pick-up.
- Sets up equipment and materials for programs and events.
- Breaks down and cleans up after programs and events.
- Assists with snow and ice removal.
- Performs various construction‑related activities.
- Performs related work as required.
Two years of building and grounds maintenance experience, preferably including experience in a lead or supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special RequirementsApplicants must possess a valid driver's license.
Selection and AppointmentA selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant, including education, experience, supplemental questions, employment references, and other appropriate information. All applicants who are conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to an urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment; the cost will be covered by the County. Candidates are required to earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview.
The top five ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.
