Aerotek is seeking a Quality Technician II:

The Quality Technician II maintains compliance with ISO and Quality Management System (QMS) standards for lift equipment repairs and refurbishments. This role conducts visual and dimensional inspections throughout the repair process, performs in-process and final inspections, and prepares clear, detailed reports for use across the business. The Quality Technician II supports external audits, helps drive corrective actions, and ensures that all products meet established quality requirements before release to customers.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with ISO standards and the Quality Management System (QMS) for lift equipment repair and refurbishment activities.
  • Serve as a key point of contact during external audits and ensure all processes and documentation meet audit requirements.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections throughout the repair and refurbishing process to verify product conformity.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of lift equipment and components, documenting findings in clear, structured reports.
  • Interpret weld symbols on blueprints and drawings, and perform advanced weld inspections using size gauges, liquid penetrant, and magnetic particle methods.
  • Review finished products for visual and functional issues prior to release and delivery to customers, ensuring they meet internal and customer quality expectations.
  • Work proactively upstream in the process to investigate issues found during audits and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Train others and perform advanced paint inspections using tools such as surface finish gauges and thickness gauges, and evaluate paint finishes using cross hatch, salt spray, and pencil tests.
  • Audit manufacturing processes and assemblies to verify compliance with QMS requirements and document results in technical reports accessible to all levels of the business.
  • Verify and process Defective Material Reporting (DMR) parts to ensure they meet quality standards and write clear descriptions of nonconformances that can be understood across the organization.
  • Create and maintain quality reports that summarize inspection results, nonconformances, and trends to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and other teams to resolve quality issues and support ongoing improvements in manufacturing processes.
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with ISO standards in a production or repair setting.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and their application in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in visual and dimensional inspection techniques for mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Ability to interpret weld symbols and read blueprints and drawings for inspection purposes.
  • Experience performing weld inspections using size gauges, liquid penetrant, and magnetic particle methods.
  • Experience conducting paint inspections using tools such as surface finish gauges and thickness gauges.
  • Ability to create clear, accurate quality reports and technical documentation for multiple levels of the business.
  • Strong skills in quality inspection, including visual inspection, manufacturing inspection, and final product verification.
  • Proficiency in identifying nonconformances and documenting them clearly in DMR (Defective Material Reporting) systems.
  • Solid understanding of quality management principles and their practical application in a shop environment.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Preferred experience with weld inspection in a manufacturing or repair environment.
  • Preferred experience with paint inspection and coating evaluation.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic prints.
  • Experience generating and interpreting QMS and ISO‑related reports.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
