Day-in-the-life:
Dimensional Metrology Inspector Picture your day starting at a spotless inspection cell. You verify your gages are calibrated, review the traveler and blueprint, then run a first article on a newly machined part. Micrometers and height gages confirm key features, and a CMM program validates critical dimensions and GD&T callouts. You capture results, flag any nonconformances, and huddle with the machinist and engineer to close the loop.
As production continues, you perform in-process checks, complete final inspections, and keep our ISO 9001 quality system humming with accurate records and periodic audits.
What you’ll tackle
First article, in-process, and final inspections on precision-manufactured components
Use of calipers, micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, and related inspection tools
Operation of CMM equipment to verify dimensions, features, and specifications
Interpretation of blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and welding symbols
Gage calibration activities and upkeep of inspection equipment
Support for ISO quality audits and adherence to the quality management system
Documentation of inspection results, nonconforming material, and quality reports
Participation in root cause investigations and corrective actions
Close collaboration with production and engineering to resolve quality issues
What you bring1+ year of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
Hands-on skill with precision measuring instruments
Fluency in reading blueprints and applying GD&TWorking knowledge of ISO 9001 systems
Experience running CMMs (Mitutoyo, CMM-Manager, or similar a plus)
Familiarity with welding symbols and basic weld inspection
Sharp attention to detail and a practical problem-solving mindset
High school diploma or equivalent
