Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: St. Louis

Bruker Spatial Biology, a rapidly growing biotech company with an R&D group in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for an entry‑level Bioinformatician to join our R&D department. The successful candidate will work with the Bioinformatic team leader to establish data analysis solutions for our CellScapeTM platform and support key customer collaborations and contract research projects.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain bioinformatics tools, libraries, and databases that analyze Spatial Proteomics / mIF data.
  • Analyze and interpret large, complex biological datasets—including spatial proteomics and single‑cell data—to support discovery of new drugs, therapies, and biologically meaningful patterns.
  • Evaluate, test, and improve existing internal software solutions, and partner with software teams during active development cycles.
  • Work cross‑functionally with wet‑lab and software teams to critically evaluate data from multiplex biomarker assays and translate scientific needs into analysis solutions.
  • Communicate findings to scientists, researchers, and stakeholders through clear written reports and presentations.
  • Challenge the status quo by engaging in constructive critique of established practices and proposing better alternatives.
  • Deliver projects and milestones on time, keeping leadership informed through routine progress updates.
  • May participate in travel to conferences and trade shows.
Qualifications
  • PhD with extensive bioinformatics analysis background.
  • Strong fluency in Python (required); working knowledge of R, MATLAB, or comparable scientific computing environments is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and write clean, reusable functions, modules, and analysis pipelines—not just notebook‑style scripting.
  • Hands‑on experience developing machine‑learning or deep‑learning models (training, evaluation, and deployment), particularly applied to imaging or single‑cell data.
  • Ability to communicate, educate, and engage wet‑lab scientists.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.

Base salary for this full‑time position ranges from $86,500 to $153,500, with performance‑related incentives and a comprehensive benefits package that includes 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability insurance, employee assistance program, and paid time off including vacation, sick time, and holidays.
