Overview
The Patti Lab in the Department of Chemistry at Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Staff Scientist. Our group develops and applies novel mass spectrometry-based methods for multi-omics research.
Responsibilities- Design analytical research protocols, including developing procedures for the collection, verification, and management of data.
- Troubleshoot and maintain mass spectrometry instrumentation, including troubleshooting with equipment, instrumentation, and protocols.
- Suggest technical or procedural improvements in research methods.
- Conduct literature searches related to research project.
- Maintain complete and organized records of data, experimental protocols, and the results of analyses, including maintaining EHS Blue Book and training on lab specific safety protocols, etc.
- Prepare final summaries of data and publication-quality graphs, tables, and charts. Participate in writing manuscripts for publication and grant proposals for research support.
- Aid in mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students, and postdocs.
PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry or a related field.
