Postdoctoral Researcher Position at Saint Louis University

The Tse Lab at Saint Louis University School of Medicine has a postdoctoral associate position available for either or both projects listed below.

Project I:
Understanding coronavirus pathogenesis and transmission (zoonotic, enzootic, and pandemic). The focus of the project is to understand the molecular mechanisms of host factors and viral determinants that enhance Coronavirus zoonosis. Traditional molecular virology skills and the ability to generate hypotheses are required. Work also requires biosafety level 3 (BSL3) training, with previous experience in BSL3 preferred.

Project II:
Develop a safe and efficacious Dengue virus vaccine for naïve children in endemic areas. The focus of the project is to understand the correlation between dengue vaccine protection and antibody enhancement. Unwanted/unsafe epitopes will be removed via viral engineering. Research skills in structural, engineering, and evolution of viral antigens are required. Small animal work is necessary.

This is a full-time postdoctoral researcher role at Saint Louis University.

The Tse lab provides scientific freedom within the scope of the lab. The goal of a postdoc is to conduct compelling and applicable research while providing trainees with other non-science related skills for future career advancements. If agreed upon, PI will also involve his postdoctoral trainees in various tasks that cultivate skills necessary for independent investigation, including grant writing, peer-reviewing, laboratory management, and administration.

  • Trouble shooting ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • PhD in Virology-related field.
  • Strong publication record.
