A Staff Scientist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. John DiPersio, with direct reporting to Dr. Jerry Xiang. This position is part of a translational cell therapy program focused on advancing next-generation immunotherapies from discovery through IND-enabling studies and clinical translation. The successful candidate will work at the interface of discovery and translation, contributing to projects involving CRISPR/Cas9 gene-edited CAR‑T cell therapy for hematologic malignancies.

Ongoing efforts are directed toward IND-enabling studies, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in developing cell therapies from bench to clinic.

Primary

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design research protocols, including developing procedures for the collection, verification and management of data.
  • Assist with grant preparation and reporting.
  • Perform complex statistical analysis of data collected and write interpretative reports. Verify the correctness of the data submitted and make recommendations based on these analyses.
  • Document research topics and prepare and submit papers based on research work to publications and committee for publication or presentation to peers.
  • Resolve practical problems related to equipment or test subjects; suggest technical or procedural improvements in testing methods.
  • Conduct literature searches related to research projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
  • Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
  • Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and provide standard care to research animals.
Education & Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree or a combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. – Doctor of Philosophy
