Clinical Research, Research Scientist, Research Assistant/Associate
Location: St. Louis
Position Summary
The successful candidate will join a diverse group of scientists and trainees focused on advancing human digestive health through innovative and impactful research. The lab focuses on epithelial pathobiology and host-microbial interactions within inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis) and cancer (colorectal and pancreatic). Responsibilities include conducting research experiments, including mouse models, cell and organoid culture, and analyses of human biospecimens.

40 hours per week.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Conduct research experiments and assays.
- Evaluate research results, report findings, and discuss outcomes with staff.
- Perform data entry and maintain research data files.
- Coordinate tissue cultures, reagents, probe tests, etc.
- Comply with safety procedures and maintain documentation of laboratory and specimen conditions.
- Coordinate research projects with other institutions and investigators.
- Participate in developing hypotheses and designing experiments.
- Assist with general supply/equipment orders, lab maintenance and cleaning.
- Perform literature research on specified topics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
- Physical ability to wear protective equipment and provide standard care to research animals.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and/or experience.
No specific certification or professional license is required for this position.
Work ExperienceLaboratory operations experience of 2 years.
SkillsRelevant laboratory processes, scientific research, and documentation skills.
Driver’s LicenseA driver’s license is not required.
Salary Range$17.10 - $29.09 per hour (grade R07-H).
