POSITION TITLE: Research Assistant
SUPERVISOR: Director of Research
FLSA: Non‑Exempt (eligible for overtime)
SCHEDULE: Part‑Time
Company DescriptionThe Missouri Partnership is a public‑private, non‑profit corporation with the principal mission of recruiting new business investment to the state. Through collaborative efforts with state and local partners, the Missouri Partnership works to attract new companies by marketing the state’s business advantages.
Job Summary / PurposeThis position reports to the Director of Research and supports a variety of initiatives related to economic research, marketing, and business development. The role contributes to data‑driven projects that position Missouri as a top destination for business investment.
Essential Functions- Conduct research using both subscription‑based and publicly available data sources
- Analyze and verify data to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Support due diligence research as part of internal project processes (training provided)
- Assist with lead generation efforts, including identifying and researching prospective company contacts
- Provide research and content support for marketing materials, including website updates
- Maintain and update website content as needed (training provided)
- Monitor and compile news and trends related to economic conditions, business development, and corporate relocations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, collaborative, and approachable demeanor
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated research and internet proficiency
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills preferred
- Interest in economic development preferred
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required, additional coursework or experience in business, communications, economics, geography, library science, statistics, urban planning, or a related field preferred
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or working on a computer
