Kelly Science & Clinical is hiring a Laboratory Technician for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity in St. Louis, MO.
About the RoleIn this hands‑on laboratory position, you will support the day‑to‑day operations of a mass spectrometry sample preparation laboratory. Primary responsibilities include laboratory glassware and labware processing, solution preparation, basic biological sample handling, and maintaining an organized, efficient laboratory environment. You will work alongside Operations and R&D teams while gaining valuable exposure to proteomics and metabolomics workflows. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or early‑career scientist who is detail‑oriented, dependable, eager to learn, and looking to build a strong foundation in laboratory operations and scientific best practices.
No prior mass spectrometry experience is required.
- Wash, clean, and maintain laboratory glassware and labware
- Prepare laboratory buffers, LC‑MS solvents, stock solutions, and dilutions according to established procedures
- Assist with basic biological sample preparation, including tissue and plasma samples, under supervision
- Maintain laboratory supplies, reagent inventory, and overall laboratory organization
- Perform routine laboratory and equipment maintenance while following safety and waste disposal procedures
- Organize laboratory storage areas and maintain sample inventory
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain accurate laboratory documentation
- Support Research Associates and Operations staff with laboratory projects and daily activities
- Record experimental observations and maintain detailed laboratory notebooks
- Perform additional laboratory duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- 0–1 years of laboratory experience.
- Relevant academic laboratory coursework, undergraduate research, or internship experience is welcomed.
- Prior experience with mass spectrometry is not required.
- Basic laboratory math skills, including dilutions, concentrations, and unit conversions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Excellent organizational and record‑keeping abilities.
- Dependable work ethic with a willingness to learn new laboratory techniques.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to follow established procedures while maintaining a safe laboratory environment.
- Recent graduate seeking to begin a career in laboratory science.

- Contract:
Approximately 6‑month contract with the intent to convert to a permanent position based on performance (conversion not guaranteed). - Pay Rate: $28–32/hour, depending on relevant laboratory experience.
