The Albanus Lab in the Department of Neurology is searching for a Bioinformaticist. The successful candidate will independently lead projects integrating multi-omics (single-cell RNA- and ATAC-seq, spatial transcriptomics) and genetics to understand the biology of human aging, with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases and personalized medicine. The candidate will lead research projects in the lab with full independence and provide support for collaborations, grant reporting, and computational infrastructure.
Assists in developing and conducting research projects, including experiment design, data analysis, and documentation of experiment results.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement algorithms and computer software for omics-based data sets (high-throughput, massively parallel genomic/proteomic/clinical).
- Develop data management and analysis solutions that aid in the storage, investigation, and dissemination of large data sets.
- Lead independent research projects, including design of research protocols and development of procedures for the collection, verification, and management of data.
- Perform complex systems analysis of data and write interpretative reports.
- Evaluate commercial and academic bioinformatics software.
- Train other researchers on the everyday use of analysis software and research databases.
- Assist with grant preparation and reporting of methods, data, and results.
- Solve practical problems relating to difficulties with equipment or test subjects; suggest technical or procedural improvements in testing methods.

Salary Range: $55,200.00 - $ / Annually
