Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the following activities:
Analyses and experiments
- Prepare samples for analysis.

- Implement analytical methods, from the extraction of compounds of interest to their detection, identification, and quantification.

- Conduct experiments on gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry equipment.

- Exploit analytical signals, process data, and format results.

- Participate in the development, validation, and metrological evaluation of analytical methods. Management of equipment and quality
- Ensure routine maintenance and first-level maintenance of equipment.

- Manage stocks of consumables and chemicals.

- Ensure traceability of laboratory activities.

- Contribute to the management of biological and chemical waste.

- Participate in the definition and application of good laboratory practices as well as hygiene and safety rules. Collective support and technical assistance
- Contribute to the technical supervision of non-permanent staff.

- Participate in their training and support them in the realization of their experiments.

- Collaborate with different team members in the context of research projects.

You will carry out your activities in specialized laboratories equipped with the latest generation analytical equipment, including a high-resolution gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry system. Manipulations of chemical and biological products will be carried out in strict compliance with hygiene and safety rules.

Important:
This position is exclusively open to civil servants and permanent employees belonging to the three public sectors.

Profile Sought

You have a degree in analytical chemistry or in a field close to applied chemical analysis. Experience in the fields of chemical contaminant analysis and/or volatile compounds will be appreciated.

Skills :

- Prepare and manage samples for chemical analysis.

- Implement common laboratory analysis techniques.

- Use gas chromatography and mass spectrometry equipment.

- Exploit and analyze experimental data.

- Use office tools, especially Excel, for processing and compiling results.

- Apply rules related to chemical and biological risks.

The position requires an understanding of technical English in the scientific field.
